The River Drive Park
Incomparable and in Danger
October 1988
The Report of the 1988 Institute of the City Parks Association of Philadelphia
This report addresses the status and future prospects of the River Drive Parks. An extensive pool of base data was collected through a series of one-on-one interviews with more than twenty-five individuals with special interests, responsibilities and competences relating to those parks. A workshop was held on April 9, 1988, which was attended by more than forty-five representatives from government, the private sector and the community. Drawing upon the interviews and the comments from the workshop, the report discusses the assets of the River Drive Parks, why they are in danger, what must be done, and steps for implementation.
