How Can We Feed Philadelphia?
City Parks Association organized a recent panel in May entitled How Can We Feed Philadelphia? as part of Sustainable Philadelphia Urban Sustainability Forum series. The aim of the forum was to learn from successful models of urban agriculture in other cities and to encourage conversation for those working in Philadelphia. Panelists included experts from Milwaukee and London, where urban farming initiatives have been successfully introduced to address issues of food security.
A day long workshop, Growing the Grange, was held on the following day. Experts presented sessions that focused on skill building to a range of students and practitioners.

The Center works to help residents and public servants create healthy, high-quality environments. They build the capacity of urban communities to create and preserve green infrastructure networks that improve the natural environment, citizen health, and economic opportunities.
Ben Reynolds, Food Link Project Officer and Network Director of Sustain London
London Food Link works towards increasing the availability of sustainable food in London, tackling the barriers preventing access to healthy and sustainable food for all Londoner and protecting and celebrating London’s diverse food culture.

The Mayor’s Office of Sustainability (MOS) aims to meet Mayor Michael Nutter’s challenge that Philadelphia be the “greenest city in America.” MOS was created to help the city leverage its existing assets and mitigate its exposure to the effects of global warming.
