Art in the Open Website Live

City Parks Association is proud to announce Art in the Open 2012 Art in the Open, a citywide festival that celebrates artists and their relationships with the urban environment. Inspired by the tradition of plein air painting, selected artists will work outside, on-site along the banks of the tidal Schuykill River from the historic Fairmount Park Water Works south to landmark Bartram’s Garden. This year, AiO expands its scope to include the Delaware River!

During the day, partnering institutions will offer extensive opportunities for public engagement showcasing the vibrant community of working artists, galleries and institutions that make Philadelphia a major Urban Art Center.

Art in the Open is slated to take place May 18-20, 2012. Visit our website for more information, and to follow the festival’s progress.
